DRBC Social Club Day
Date : Sunday 25 March 2018 from 9am
Venue: The Pond
There is going to be a relaxed club day at the Pond on Sunday 25 March 2018.
Scale are encouraged to bring their models down and display them on land but preferably on the water throughout the morning.
Power and Sailing will alternate - power will run from 9am to 10H30 and sailing from 10H30 to around 12H00.

Sailing will be competitive but anything goes, Lasers, RG 65s, DF 95s, IOMs or whatever you wish to sail. We may have two starts one minute apart to split the fleet and results will be recorded separately in their class. There will be extra boats around for those modelers that want to get active or those petrol head junkies that wish to convert to nature. Dave Wiseman, we want to see you giving the sailors a run again.
It's a no stress social event to start another good year for the club.
The Club will provide boerewors rolls (or similar) but should you wish to put anything else on the braai feel free to bring your own.
It's not aimed at the public but if visitors or members of the public wish to participate - great! All welcome.

Some information about the DRBC

The Durban Radio Boat Club is situated at the Blue Lagoon just 5 minutes from the city centre of Durban, South Africa

The DRBC is the only club in Durban that caters for Radio Controlled Sailing, Scale Models and Power Boats.

All sections are very active in pursuing their chosen sport or hobby with passion and enthusiasm.

Facilities available include a small club house and grassed picnic area situated on the banks of the Umgeni River with a seperate 200m x 50m pond that caters for all club activities.

As an aside there is a wide variety of bird life on the Pond and on the islands in the river which makes for excellent bird spotting.

Come down to the Pond on any Sunday morning and speak to one of the club committee members or contact the club by email

Please be sure to click on the links to the different club section links to see some of the scale models, power boats and yachts in action and for further information about each section.
